I was speaking with a friend of mine about the Christmas Performance I’ve been putting together whilst we were having a coffee down at the beach and we both looked up and saw these amazing clouds.

Can you see the Santa sleigh with reindeer?
How cool is that!
Our world reflects so much of what we are putting out.

Today, I invite us all to open our heart and to open our mind
and be grateful for the love that is offered and what we shall find!

Lisa :)

P.S. Why not take a moment to listen to the Christmas Performance Spiel http://lighthousecentreforlearning.com/primary-christmas-performance/.               Please email me if you are interested in having this very special performance at your school lisa@lighthousemusicforkids.com

A big thanks to Wadalba Community School for having me perform the two shows ‘I’m Special & So Are You’ and ‘Responding With Ability’ today.

It was a really special day as they were my first Primary School Performances and the children made them all the more special with their enthusiastic participation! They were so keen to learn and I loved hearing their wonderful singing and seeing such pure joy. To have a young fellow run up to me at the very end (just as I started packing up the equipment) and give me a great big hug, topped it all off!

Thank you all so very much once again!

June/July

It’s great to be taking performance bookings. I’m truly grateful to be given the opportunity to share my stories and songs with the children and know that they will take whatever it is they need from each performance to enhance their lives and open their hearts all the more. As we change the energy within, the energy around us changes and this then adds to the energy of all life.

As we place our focus upon the positives in life, what we focus upon expands and we see more positives! It’s like if you want to buy a white mazda 626, you will find them everywhere on the road and be amazed at just how many there are. This is what I mean when I speak of the positives and, once we change our way of thinking to appreciating, rather than seeing ‘lack’ or have the opinion of ‘I can’t do…’ to ‘I can do…’ we make great changes within our lives. We learn from our mistakes in life, for mistakes are just another path of learning. Life offers us so much to be grateful for and the performances offer children a different perspective – a positive perspective, a different way of looking at life and living. I like to see them as ‘feel good’ performances, they are encouraging the children to feel good, to put into practise their good feeling thoughts and to move through their day in positive and productive ways.

May

It’s been a very exciting month for me. I’ve just received my equipment for performances i.e. speakers & stands, microphones, cables etc. I’ve also sent out performances flyers to the schools on the Central Coast and am now emailing to Newcastle Primary Schools regarding the two Personal Development Performances ‘I’m Special And So Are You’ and ‘Responding With Ability.’ I am so looking forward to moving into the Primary Schools after all these years of planning resources and performances for both preschool and primary school students.

Please check out the performances at http://lighthousecentreforlearning.com/primary-performances/ if you know a school that may be interested on the Central Coast or Newcastle or perhaps even in Sydney, please share the page with them or email me lisa@lighthousemusicforkids.com

Wishing you a joyful and productive month and I invite you to take a look at Lighthouse Centre For Learning website, there just may be something of interest that may be of assistance, helping you and those you love on your path of learning.

Cheers!

April

Easter holidays offer children so much to enjoy, especially the easter egg hunt, then self reward – eating their stash!

This month is a month of renewal of endings; the end of the first term, rest and preparations for term two. The Easter holiday is ‘time out’ for children to boost their energy with fun filled activities, friendships, rest and heartfelt time with the family. This is also time for teachers to wind down and boost their energy too.

I’ve been working on building energy for performances, pacing myself for the journey ahead and also taking time in contemplation of where I’ve come and where I wish to go. It’s very exciting to be moving back into the primary schools (being a former primary school teacher) with performances after years of creating resources for both preschools and primary and then performing Educational Performances within preschools.

This ‘now‘ moment holds the key to where we all wish to journey as it is where we focus our energy and as we focus, we build the platform for the future or we paint the canvass of our lives. I’m really pleased with the performances and the direction they are taking and I invite you if you are teaching in Sydney, Newcastle or on the Central Coast to please check out the Educational Personal Development Performances and email me if you would like me to present them to your school. Each performance enriches the lives of everyone, old and young for they offer a greater sense of self and remind everyone just how important it is to value and take care of ourselves, each other and the world in which we live.

Happy Easter!

March

Update @ 16th: I’d like to present the first verse of the song I’ve labelled… ‘Labels!’

‘Labels come in many ways

Through thoughts and feelings and the words we say

They’re sweet or sour to our hearts

Can boost us up or tear us apart’

You can now find words to the rest of the song by clicking here: http://lighthousecentreforlearning.com/3089-2/

It’s been quite a busy start to the month with final preparations for the Primary Performances. I am in the process of putting together a resource on how to remove unwanted labels (names we’ve been called at any age) that we’ve held onto and carry around with us day to day. I have a new song called ‘Labels’ and a presentation teaching children how to let go of that which no longer serves them – simple life skills for children and the child within. It’s all very exciting, as this is something that affects us all at any age, boosting us up or bringing us down – bringing us down can be quite debilitating. Perhaps you yourself are carrying around negative labels that you’re still listening too in your head and believing about yourself? Wouldn’t it be great to be taught at such a young age how to let go of the negative names we are called and call ourselves, then replacing them with positive and encouraging words that embrace freedom, courage, an open heart and mind. WE all are capable of doing this and this then makes for such a difference in our day and in our lives as well… it’s called ‘self worth’. Believing in ourselves and following our dreams is so important for all no matter how old we are or where we live or who we live with.

I shall put these up onto Song Presentation Page when completed.

Cheers!

Lisa

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Just a reminder to check out my Christmas Songs @ lighthousemusicforkids.com under ‘PRESENTATIONS’. Just place your mouse under the title page ‘Music’ and ‘PRESENTATIONS’ will appear, click on this for the page :)

I feel this presentation that’s just been completed is appropriate for this time of year. If you would like to present this to your school or community, please email me: lisa@lighthousemusicforkids.com

Please remember to take care of yourself leading up to Christmas day. This time of year can be extremely stressful and I encourage you to take one day at a time, remember to breathe and whatever stress comes your way say to yourself ‘It’s only a moment in time’ for this helps you release and move forward feeling lighter and brighter. I have a line in one of my children songs that says ‘People see their lives in so many ways, when they’re unpleasant, they’re feeling that way’ – it’s always good to be mindful that we all come from our perspective.

Once again, wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas!

Please take a look at this very valuable presentation called ‘I Choose To Send My Love.’
It’s a great song for little kids and kid at heart to help in difficult moments. There is always something we can do to offer our best even if we can’t get close to the person we love due to distance, circumstances or the way they are feeling and this presentation shows just how.

Heart to heart there is nothing better! Here is the presentation just completed:

Another wonderful presentation from the album ‘Shine Your Light’ is now up and running. This is such a valuable classroom resource as it presents the values of respect and co-operation.

‘Taking turns, is what it’s all about, it helps us listen and not to shout. It’s about you and it’s about me, sharing our lives peacefully.’

Please take a look and email me: lisa@lighthousemusicforkids.com if you are interested in purchasing this for your school and/or community group.

September

I had a lovely time playing my songs down at Terrigal last week. A young family passed by and stopped to listen to some of the songs. I asked the young boy if he’d like me to play him a song to dance too and both he and his father danced to my song ‘It’s a Happy Day’ thoroughly enjoying themselves as they did! This is what makes all my effort worth while, seeing joy and connection with folks and the music is just out of this world!

I’d like to present now from the album ‘Shine Your Light’ a presentation called ‘Good Manners’ that I’ve only just finished, if you are interested in the presentation, please email me lisa@lighthousemusicforkids.com

At last I can proudly say ‘The Essence of Life’ presentation is now available. I would love you to take a few moments just to sit with it and allow the words to enter your mind and heart.

This song is great as an assembly song for Primary Schools in which all classes are able to participate, i.e. a class per stanza perhaps. Here it is:

20th May, Just letting you know I’ve uploaded ‘I’M HAPPY!’ onto Youtube. Here we go!

Over the past few weeks, I’ve created two presentations for ‘My Hand of Trust’ as well as lesson outcomes and ideas. I am in the throws of finalising these outcomes and ideas ready to sell as a package that offers, the song, both presentations (one is just words alone and the other pictures and words) and as I’ve just mentioned, the lesson outcomes and ideas for each stage within the primary school.

Meanwhile, I’d like to leave you with this reflection and little ditty. I shall also put this to a presentation for classes to utilise as soon as it’s ready. Please take the message of the song to heart. Our day is what we make of it and I hope you make a beautiful day for yourself and in doing so, all those around you shall reap the benefits of your ‘happy go lucky energy!’ Have fun :)

HELP IS AT HAND!

I mentioned last month about the song ‘My Hand of Trust’. I’d like now to post a snippet of ‘My Hand of Trust’. If you are interested in purchasing this song please write to me lisa@lighthousemusicforkids.com

As a former Primary School teacher and mother of four children, I am sure this song will benefit children no matter where they live. It’s also a valuable resource for the Police Force when speaking to the children about ‘Stranger Danger’. Please read March’s News if you’ve not already, thanks.

Lisa :)

March

An exciting month of Primary School  preparation and completion of a new song ‘My Hand of Trust.’  This song is almost ready to purchase.  It is a song that teaches children to seek help from those whom they trust to share their fears and problems with, who can offer advice and comfort, help and heal where needed most.  Every child has the right to feel safe and loved and this song assists them in getting the help they need.

‘By finding my help and healing inside, I make things better, alright!’ (A line from the song)

The song ‘MY HAND OF TRUST’ correlates with the NSW PDHPE Syllabus’ outcome:

Safe Living.(SLSES1.13, SLS1.13, SLS2.13, SLS3.13)

Interpersonal Relationships Outcomes and Indicators (IRES1.11, IRS1.11, IRS2.11, IRS3.11)

Ok, back to work! I’ll put up a sample of the song shortly.

Cheers!

This month has been a month of performance preparation. I’ve also added a new interactive component to the Infant School Performance encouraging children to share their thoughts and feelings. I’d like to introduce my ‘Talk-About Bear’. (He is a larger version of the Talk-About Bear I use within preschools.) He is like a ‘message/talking stick’ in that when the children hold him, he ‘listens’ with the audience as they ‘Talk about a time when…’ This helps in performances as children focus upon the feel of the bear when holding him which aids in settling them down/ grounding them and they then focus upon what it is they wish to share. It also reminds the all those children present to offer the gift of ‘listening’ as we just may learn a thing or two from what is being said.

Cheers!

January

To begin the new year, I’ve decided to put up the theme of ‘Forgiveness.’  Forgiveness offers us a ‘fresh clean slate’ and what better way to begin the new year!  This time, I’ve put it as my 2nd video presentation.  I hope you’ll make a moment free to have a listen, it just may help.

I also wish to remind you of the resources I offer, I’ve a song for young children called ‘I’m Sorry.’  This song reminds children that when we are sorry, we can start again, feeling happy and good inside.  As we release our pain and blame we are free to move forward in life, (going from the negative to the positive) it’s a very healthy process for our mind and body, a most precious gift we can offer ourselves and to those who’ve hurt us.  I invite you to check out my ‘values and ethics’ based resources on this website: ‘Lighthouse Centre For Learning’ they just may be what you are searching for.

Wishing you a year of all things positive and uplifting!

Just letting you know I’ve added my first video to You Tube. Here is the link, please click and check it out:

Lisa Brockwell – A celebration of life and living

The Christmas ballads  are ready to view on You Tube and I hope you’ll take a moment to watch the presentations.
‘I Didn’t Get What I Wanted For Christmas’

The second song is called : ‘Instead of Ho! Ho! Ho! It was ‘Oh! Oh! Oh!’

Both ballads emphasise the importance seeing beyond the drama to the heart of Christmas, ‘love’ – The gift that keeps on giving!

The third song I’ve just put up onto You Tube is called ‘It’s All Around The Christmas Tree’

This song celebrates the wondrous moments spent around the Christmas tree admiring the Christmas presents and then finally being able to open them. It’s a celebration of Christmas joy and also of the memories we make around the Christmas tree.

May each song touch your heart and bring great joy to your day.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

With Christmas approaching I am focused on writing themed songs for preschool and primary. I’ve taken ‘time out’ to create these resources so that we may see Christmas as a ‘Gift of Love’, ‘The Gift That Keeps On Giving’ and explore in my shows various ways we express ‘the goodness that’s inside’ ‘the love that we are’ on Christmas day and over the holiday season. It’s been really exciting once again living in ‘creative mode’ or should I say ‘magic land’ and I’m sure it shall benefit many!!

I am also finishing off a most comforting song called ‘You’ll Always Live On In My Heart’ which embraces the fact that loving relationships last forever. This song shall help with the grieving process we go through when we’ve lost a loved one.

Please check out my website for further resources that may just be what you are looking for!

October

It’s ‘CARER’S WEEK’ here in N.SW. (11th – 17th October)  and I’m just letting you know I’ve put up this song for all Carers, today.

The spiel for the song is underneath the title so I won’t go on yet I would like to add the song can lend itself to teaching diversity, inclusion and understanding.

Please take a moment to listen to this song and share it out. It just may touch your heart and the heart of another.

Now, I’ve been busy over Sept/October getting this song up and running. It’s a terrific song for mental health. I do hope you’ll have a listen.

Feel Good thoughts can’t help but feel good! This song comes from my heart and is full of wonderful good feeling memories and a process that transmutes feelings of upset, stress, anxiety, all fearful feelings to that being of a lighter and brighter nature. Please take a moment to check this presentation out, it can be utilised in so many circumstances at home, school, within the community. It can also be used in conjunction with the last presentation ‘Changing My Thoughts’.

I’d like to present the latest presentation I’ve just put up onto You Tube. Please check it out, it just may help where needed most. It’s is called ‘Changing My Thoughts’ and offers a simple way of bringing peace, harmony and all things positive to where chaos and fear once resided.  We always have it within us to flip the coin and replace our negative feeling thoughts to more positive, uplifting thoughts and feelings.

A big thank you to Family Tree Learning Centre, Bateau Bay for having me perform ‘I Care!’ It was really great being with you and sharing important values of caring and being thankful – for each other, the world in which we live and what we are given to grow and learn through.

On the way out I was really touched when one of those young cuties from your preschool ran to me with arms out wide and a heart full of love for an extra big cuddle!  Moments like these really, really touch your heart.

Please check out the music and book resources promoting such important values as caring, sharing, loving ourselves, having good manners, co-operating, releasing anger in a positive way and getting on nicely with each other on this website.

Cheers!

This photo was taken last weekend whilst I presented my children’s music down at Terrigal. It’s so humbling to have children come up and dance to your music and so many have.  I find it wonderful that the music is like a magnet in that it has the power to attract children no matter their age – they just appear and stop, listen, smile and groove to the beat; like bees to the honeypot, absolutely beautiful!

I’m looking forward to presenting my preschool performance ‘I Care!’ to Family Tree Learning Centre next week. I’m sure we’ll have a lot of fun together appreciating the full value of caring.

Please check out my facebook page lighthousecentreforlearning.com and my preschool and primary school resources within this website, there just maybe something you really need at the moment.

May

This is the month of completion of two heartfelt songs.  The first is about acceptance, I wrote it from the perspective of a son/daughter to their mother/father ‘carer’.   It is called ‘ACCEPT ME JUST AS I AM’   The beginning of the song starts:

Accept me, just as I am,  I am all that I am.
I may not be all you want me to be, I am who I am, I’m just being me.

The other song is about the loss of a loved one.  Is called ‘YOU’LL ALWAYS LIVE ON IN MY HEART’
This begins as such:

As I close my eyes, I think of you.   You seem so far away I feel that distance too.
Yet no matter how far I feel that we’re apart, you’ll always live on in my heart.

In my spare time, I made a visit down to Terrigal and was joined by a beautiful young fellow who made a few song requests whilst he sat on his bike :)
I’m so grateful for all that comes my way!  It was really great seeing kids from Terrigal Primary pass by enjoying the music, offering smiles and nods!  Thanks kids, teachers, parents & grandparents for all your heartfelt support!  And thanks for my friend Kathleen who came down to take this photo and shout me a coffee!  Great to finish the day catching up with your buddy.  We are all so beautifully supported every day in every way!

I’d like to share with you my latest presentation called ‘Good Old Pinocchio!’  Teachers are able to use this presentation as a discussion starter about ‘Telling Lies’ emphasising ’cause and effect’.  Please take a peek –  it’s only found here at present.  As we are all well aware, we have all told lies and they are told for a specific purpose.  My definition of telling a lie, is a made up story or ‘pictures we see of what’s false in our mind.’  Perhaps we lie to cover what it is we don’t want people to find out or to guide someone in a certain direction so as to protect ourselves.  Whatever the reason, this little chant reminds children that lies are made up stories and there really isn’t a Pinocchio for it’s a made up story in itself!

I always like to stop and consider just what it is I am learning within any given difficult situation.  It’s not only looking at the greater picture (the reason why it’s there in my life) it offers me the ‘positive’ within the ‘negative’.  I would like to share with you what I believe is positive about children telling lies.

To lie is to have a creative  imagination – perhaps, when we know a child is telling us a lie, we can stop and appreciate just what wonderful imagination this child has and notice their ability of persuasion.  As I’ve mentioned before, we’ve all told a lie here and there in our past which again reminds us how wonderful our own imagination and persuasive ability was too.   I’m not making light of telling a lie, just encouraging us all to look beyond the obvious and approach lying from a different, more positive perspective – looking outside the square.  How we deal with children telling lies is entirely up to us for we each have our own teaching methods.  Anyhow, please use this as a teaching tool and may you have a heap of fun with this little chant!

I’m delighted to share with you the new Powerpoint Presentation ‘Caring For Our World’

This can now be found on You Tube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAYLkhocCik

This presentation is a great tool to use, to incite discussion with children on respecting, valuing and taking care of our planet                                            sharing how every act of kindness no matter how big or small, adds to the energy of all life.  ‘Kanga The Roo’ and I now offer this very important message for primary students as a part of the Primary Performances. http://lighthousecentreforlearning.com/performances/

Here’s a question we all need to ask ourselves ‘What will I choose to do right now, to care for the world in which I live?’

Happy New Year Everyone!

Welcome to 2015!  May you have a very successful, fulfilling year valuing life and living!  Just remember folks every day’s a new day and it’s ours to enjoy, troubles all go away as we think our happy thoughts!

As we love, we feel lighter and brighter, our hearts are open and we glow with enthusiasm, we shine bright and far.  As we release all that we hold onto that causes us to feel down in the dumps or that heavy load we’ve been carrying upon our shoulders, we lighten up and feel good inside.  This is why I love my work. I encourage and support children and the child within to do just this through my stories and songs. We don’t need to keep holding onto past hurts, anger, resentment, victimhood unless of course we choose too.  We have it within us to to feel good about ourselves and to feel good about life and living yet it is all up to us for we are totally responsible for the way we feel.  No one can make us feel this way and that, it comes from our way of looking at life – it’s what we bring to our day.  Please take a look at my stories and songs and really consider these for the young children in your life. Each story and song holds life strategies to help children move through difficult situations more easily and each celebrates life and the practicalities of love.

Please take a look at the Educational Performances I offer http://lighthousecentreforlearning.com/performances/ and consider these for your school’s wellbeing programs. It is so important to love ourselves for we are with ourselves every moment of every day!  Quite often we look outward for approval and love yet when we look within we see so much magnificence – a journey that lasts a lifetime!  Self acceptance and self love is ‘numero uno’ (NUMBER 1 in life!) for if we can’t love ourselves as we are, how can we love others as they are?

Life is a wonderful journey and I encourage you this year to take that journey inward and discover your hidden treasures!  Bring out the best in you for all to appreciate and celebrate.  Don’t give your power away, open your heart and mind sharing the gift of love that you are without asking anything back for by doing so you are not asking for approval to ‘Shine’ you are just being you a brilliant light that offers warmth and love, support and guidance.

Light the way in 2015 with your love… why not!

Lisa :)

As the year comes to a close, I would like to thank all those who’ve taken the time to read Lighthouse Music For Kids ‘News’.

It’s been a terrific year and I’m so grateful for all opportunities presented.

I’ve really enjoyed sharing wonderful good old fashioned values with the kids!  Thanks to all the Preschools on the Central Coast and in Sydney for having me perform and present the show ‘I Care!’ And thanks to the Preschools throughout New South Wales who’ve purchased Lighthouse Music For Kids ‘Values Based Resources’.  May they continue to help where needed most.  It’s been really, really great having the feedback from schools showing just how they are being used and the wonderful help they offer.  Thank you so much!!

I wish for everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  May all that’s loving and positive be yours now and always!

November

I know I’ve said it again and again, I feel as though I am the luckiest person in Australia! I love what I do and I do what I love!!

This month has seen me out and about in Newcastle and parts of Sydney promoting the show ‘I Care!’ It  really is lovely travelling the countryside north and south and again I’m just so delighted to meet those wonderful Directors and teachers who hold Australia’s future – our most precious children, in their warm and caring heart and hands.

Here is a photo of Caves Beach, such wonderful views right down the road from two of Newcastle’s finest preschools.

Whilst in Sydney, I encountered a preschool that was locked up tight, right at the entrance gate.  It’s sad to see they needed to do this.  It really inspires me to live my passionate in helping children cope with life’s challenges in positive, productive ways.  Happiness comes from within and so too peace, harmony and wellbeing.  The resources and performances I offer, encourage children to embrace their day being kind, considerate and thoughtful, having a great sense of fun along the way.

Please contact me if your primary or preschool would like to book a performance, you can find more about each performance here: http://lighthousecentreforlearning.com/performances/

October

Isn’t it wonderful when young children come together and join in a heap of fun, learning important life lessons at the same time!  I’d like to begin October’s News letter by sharing some photos from Woy Woy’s Preschool Performance and Kindy Kollege Lakehaven Performance of  ‘I Care!’:

I’m grateful for the two preschool performance bookings at  Woy Woy Preschool and Kindy Kollege, Lake Haven this month! It’s just the best job ever working with such wonderful children!! I was complimented on each performance by the Preschool Directors, ‘The children really liked it as they were so involved’ and ‘It’s the most active performance we’ve had here’.  I’ve added a new component to the performance that brought together all we had learnt and it went down a real treat!

As we care for ourselves, each other and the world in which we live, we add that special magical touch that not only helps brighten our day, help us all get along nicely too! How will you care and share today?

Here are some photos from September’s performances:

September

I’m so looking forward to celebrating the full value of caring with Mission Australia’s Early Learning Centre Bateau Bay and Dinky Di’s Early Learning Centre at Gorokan this month. I’m sure we’ll have a lot of fun!

It’s pleasing to see so many people embrace the ‘Time Out!’ powerpoint presentation on You Tube . May it help where needed most!

As it is spring here ‘down under’ in Australia, we have much to be grateful for. Flowers and warm weather bring folks outside and offer great celebrations of new beginnings. I hope wherever you live you too celebrate the new season that has just begun. May it also be a wonderful time of positive change within your own life.

May we all continue to move forward with great passion and zest for life and living, making the most of the moments that be!

August

I’ve just released a powerful powerpoint presentation on You Tube ( Time Out!), from the album ‘Shine Your Light!’ The song  deals with anger management. ‘I’m delighted to put this song onto You Tube as it offers children and the child at heart, teaching strategies we can all use again and again throughout life.

‘Time Out!’ offers a peaceful, practical, positive way to release all anger and fears. What a gift to offer ourselves (to every cell in our body) and as we offer this gift to ourselves, we offer it to those who share in our day. How wonderful to learn this at an early age, at any age!

After writing this song, whilst painting a friends house (he was renovating), I met up with a fellow who was working on the house. He asked me what I did for a living and I mentioned my latest song. He told me it is almost exactly what is being taught in his anger management class yet simplified. So please take a peek, you can buy the song for only $1.69 or invest in the album ‘Shine Your Light!’ which I highly recommend as there are so many more wonderful, inspirational songs that help, encourage and support the children in your life, teaching the value of love, of life, and of living.

May ‘Time Out’ help and heal you and your wonderful children, where needed most.

May

Whilst preparing for Highland Grove Preschool’s Performance ‘I Care!’  I’ve put together two new resources that shall be available soon to purchase.  A preschool book (I’ll put it out as an ebook) sharing the message of caring and called ‘Caring Is A Loving Thing To Do!’ and a lovely new song, again reinforcing the message how ‘caring’ is a loving thing to do.

I’m happy to share with you the chorus of the new song ‘I Care!’:

‘You know caring is a loving thing to do.
It comes from me and it comes from you
It’s like ‘magic’ as it brightens up our day!
It’s the loving things we do, and all the loving words we say.’

Yes as you can see, preparations for the new shows are underway. I’m so looking forward to performing the new shows for both preschools and primary schools. Please if you have any enquiries, don’t hesitate to email me:

March

It’s been quite a busy month with my head down completing assignments and presenting a business plan. It’s a requirement of Certificate 4 in business and yes I completed this course and passed with flying colours! I must admit studying again full time was quite a challenge though my business teacher was just the best! I now look forward to putting into practise that which was imparted!

February

I am offering a variety of programs this year. Please check out my ‘Performance Page‘ on the website.

For Preschools ‘I Care!’ is a delightful performance and together with my teddy bears and puppet Sally, we promote ‘respect, compassion and appreciation’ for ourselves, each other and the world in which we live.

I’m so excited to be offering ‘Stand Tall, Respond with Ability!’ (Responsibility) for the Primary Schools. Aussie and Kanga the Roo will join me in encouraging the kids to be all that they can be within the challenges of life. Again please see my performance page for more details!

A big thanks to Cherry Tree Kindy, Sutherland for inviting me to celebrate ‘I Care!’ with your lovely children on the 20th of this month, it was really great being with such beautiful, caring children and teachers!

January

Wishing every a very successful and fulfilling year! May all that you do bring you a greater understanding that you are all you need to be, to bring joy to your life and as I say to young children to ‘Shine just like the sun that lights our day and the stars that light the night sky!’

This month I’ve taken for celebrating with family and friends, it’s been quite a social time. I’ve even caught up with a dear friend of mine from sunny Queensland whom I haven’t seen for 10 years! We went to teachers college together many moons ago (studying Primary School Teaching) and her visit gave me an opportunity to discuss my children’s CD ‘Shine Your Light!’ She mentioned that on her way down to the Central Coast, she played the songs and thought of so many wonderful ideas she could use within her classes with each song. Being very impressed with the album she wrote a recommendation which I’d like to share:

Lisa Brockwell’s songs teach children important tools for life – taking turns, good manners, resilience, addressing feelings…

The songs deliver powerful ‘life learning’ in a subtle and engaging format. Children are exposed to much sophistication in an adult world and Lisa’s music reaches children at their level, drawing on a child’s sense of fun & humour whilst relaying messages of love, encouragement and understanding to the individual child.

I have known Lisa for 27 years and her passion and enthusiasm shine through in her approach to life and especially in her work with children.

Once again may your year bring forth all good things that reveal to you just how amazing you truly are and just what a difference you make to our world!

December

What a great success was Kanwal Public Scripture  performance ‘The Magic of Christmas!’  Fantastic audience participation ~ a huge thanks kids!
This was my first performance for Primary Students and I must say it was thoroughly enjoyable and just the best celebrating with over 400 kids and teachers! I wish to give great thanks to Thomas my son for his wonderful support as my ‘roadie’ and ‘musician’ for the day. I am also extremely grateful to Rev Helen Gilkison and Lakes Anglican Church, Kanwal for offering this terrific opportunity!

As Lighthouse Music For Kids celebrates values and ethics, the Primary Performances can be utilised within your school however suits your needs.

Wishing you all the very best as you prepare for the Christmas holidays :)

November

Hi everyone, November has been busy preparing for Kanwal Public School’s Scripture Christmas Performance in a few weeks time. (Hasn’t the year gone by quickly!) I’m so looking forward to being with the students, celebrating ‘The Magic of Christmas!’

Speaking of Christmas, I invite you to check out our music and books as valuable gifts for those in your care.  I heard today how ‘My Gift of Love’ is the only book this little girl asks for when she visits her grandma – how sweet is that!

I’ve recently put up onto You Tube ‘May I Share With You Your Day?’  May you groove to the music and enjoy this delightful song! Lastly a gentle reminder to check out my Face Book Page ‘Lighthouse Centre For Learning’ for inspirational messages and photos :)

Oh and I’ve just finished writing ‘It Is Great To Give Thanks!’ A precious song for young children encouraging them to open their hearts and minds in gratitude for life and living and I’ve included a chorus and verse on this Face Book page, you might like to check that out as well!

September

I was invited as a guest speaker and  travelled to Newcastle this month to attend a ‘Gratitude’ meeting. What a wonderful idea from a friend of mine Mark Penkala. Such beautiful people at this meeting. There is just so much to be grateful for and as we offer gratitude we feel lighter and brighter. I performed a variety of my songs, and spoke of my own journey and the miracles that I’ve received that have encouraged and supported me along the way.

What are you grateful for? Take a moment to contemplate, I guarantee you being grateful will lift your spirit!

August

This month began with quite a big challenge. On the day of moving house, I took time out to perform for Gorokan Anglican Church. I am so grateful for the help and support I was offered by all my family members. My sons all pitched in and with their friends moved us to our new home whilst I performed at the Church. It was a terrific day and everything ran smoothly without any stress!

Support comes in many forms and to see through the illusion of doubt and fear, to come from a place of trust and love brings joy and harmony to ones day!

I am so thankful for the opportunity to perform; from the response of the audience it was a great success. Thank you once again everyone! I am sure we all walked away feeling lighter and brighter :)   Gorokan Anglican Church is such a lovely, warm welcoming church – remember the word Greek meaning for ‘church’ means a gathering of people!! Perhaps if you are up that way you may like to pay them a visit some time!

This month has been a month of clearing out the old and welcoming in the new. A very refreshing approach to life! And may I add ties in beautifully with the theme of the Art Fest ‘Spring, New Life’

July

I’ve just come back from performing at Gosford Markets. It was lovely being applauded for my songs by the Mums and Dads and of course the children who were there! A very happy Lisa.

I am looking forward to performing for the Art Fest at Gorokan Anglican Church this coming month, Sat the 2nd of August. The theme is ‘New Life’ and what a wonderful theme it is. New life offers us a fresh new start to be all that we can be, sharing the love that we are and making the world a better place to live in!

I invite you to join in the fun if you are over that way :)

Opportunities present themselves in many different ways and so making most of the wonderful opportunity that’s just been presented to me, I’m expanding my business and performed at young child’s birthday party on Saturday 20th. There were approximately 12 young children at this party and the theme was ‘I Am A Gift of Love!’ Isabella, Talk-About-Bear and Sally, Rainbow Bear and I loved sharing and being with all these beautiful children! Happy Birthday once again Kaylee!!

May

Many thanks to all the children and teachers of Kindy Patch at Forresters Beach. It was great sharing with you. Thank you so very much for the warm welcome and terrific participation! You have such fantastic voices!

I walked away from Kindy Patch Preschool with a big smile on my face and a skip in my step, I felt so very loved. Thanks kids :)

Oh by the way, Kindy Patch, Forresters Beach have terrific manners!
